Everyone calls me Beau in the online world. I am looking forward to meeting ADI members and exploring this exciting new universe called Star Citizen. I am a middle age gamer. I’ve been playing video games since the Atari Pong home console and Atari 2600. I fell in love with sci-fi style games with the original Elite in the late 80’s (predecessor to Elite: Dangerous). I fell in love with RPG style games with Final Fantasy II (IV) on Super Nintendo. I have not played many games in my life. I tend to stick with something for a long time. I’ve been playing Guild Wars since its original release in 2005 and now I am in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns. I have been in the same guild since 2005 and I am now the Guild Leader. While I love my guild, I don’t want that responsibility in Star Citizen. So, here I am hoping to be a part of your great organization. Maybe at some point, I can step into an officer type position in your organization. I love getting guild members together to do quests and missions. However, I hope I never have to sit in the big chair again
A bit about me. I’ve done a bit of everything in my life, a jack-of-all-trades so to speak. Here in my mid-life crisis I’ve gone back to college for Mathematics Education. I am working on my masters degree now. I am single and have no children, so my life revolves around studying, gaming, and sleeping. I need to work in some exercise into that routine. I’ve gotten fat and lazy over the last few years
Hey there Beau- welcome to the ADI community! It’s always great to see gamers with leadership experience joining our ranks.
When you get a moment try to hop onto our mumble server - its a good place to get to know our more active members and staff as well as get some game time in with other players. While you are there, talk to a staff member (denoted by a |T| |AD| or {D} prefix to their names) about completing your onboarding process - doing this will give you access to the member only forums as well as our discord services.
I always like to make it clear that if you have any questions while you are here, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask one of us - we will do our best to get you the answers you are looking for.
Lastly - I just like to point out that ADI is working on branching out into other games while we patiently wait for SC to release (Soon TM as they say). Currently we have plans to support CoD:IW, we have a number of players in Ark Survival Evolved, and plan on supporting a survival space sim called Hellion when it releases (soon TM). Feel free to help our community expand into more new games.
Welcome again and I look forward to getting some game time in with you.
PS: I have always found that the more I exercise the better I game (if you were looking for more reasons to get active again haha)!
Thanks for your interest in ADI, hopefully you’ve had a chance to get your on-boarding complete. Once you get situated, continue to hop into Mumble in order to better familiarize yourself with a few of our many members and also what games we’re supporting as we wait for SC to move a little further along developmental wise. BTW, any thought as to what division or class your interested in?
Thanks for the greetings. I have completed the onboarding process. It sounds like a great organization. Very well organized. I am used to more casual groups, but I think this will be an interesting change of pace. It will be interesting to see how some of your requirements play out in the live game. Looks like y’all have done a lot of research ahead of time.
I just want to add. I am highly considering buying and Idris-P. Your orientation person was very negative with me. Telling me that I would not be “allowed” to fly my Idris. I must say, telling me what I cannot do is a very bad way to keep my interest in your guild. I really hope that if I buy this expensive ship, that you will find a way to make my ship an active part of your family. If not, I will take my ship elsewhere very fast.
A little hint on making new members love you… Tell them what they can do. Do not tell them what they cannot do.
hi m8 i am sorry if i came across negatively during your onboarding process, that was differently not my intention, you are very welcome to hit me up on mumble for a chat about the idris if you want that.
we are very happy to have you here, so again i am very sorry if i came across negatively.
