Within one day of backing Star Citizen, I have already been invited to join an organization, and a top notch looking one at that!
I do have experience operating in a clan/corp/ organization/ outift/ platoon/ environment and rather enjoy it.
I have experience playing ARMA III, EVE, Planetside 2, Elite: Dangerous, most of the Battlefield series, and BSG as a few examples.
I am a current armed forces member of the reserves, and adhere to the CoC, as it comes very naturally to me. Due to my position as a law enforcement officer I tend to work shift work, meaning my hours of play will constantly change. I am hoping to find myself a role within this organization, and my initial plan for Star Citizen is to play the role of Bounty Hunter, therefore, I have applied for the Private Contract Services as I believe that is where I can utilize my skill sets in the best manner possible. I played as a BH in Elite:Dangerous for quite a while.
Aside from that, my military experience brings me real world experience in both convoy operations, along with infantry/ section level tactics, including but not limited to:
Dismounted offensive and defensive operations, patrols and reconnaissance. I am also very familiar with comms use and the associated voice procedure expected in an AO.
I look forward to my onboarding and joining the organization. I have logged probably 15 minutes in Star citizen so far and will definitely need some assistance in learnig the ropes. I use a Saitek X-55 and will set up my custom controls very shortly. RSI forums have been very helpful in this regard.

Once that’s all finished up, please feel free to hop in with us in any of the games we’re playing while we’re waiting for Star Citizen. We are playing lots of other things and new games are popping up all the time so there’s never a lack of things to do.
Also, of course, if you have any questions about Star Citizen, ADI, any of the other games we’re playing or anything at all, please feel free to ask and we’ll do our best to get you taken care of!
Welcome to the ADI Forums! That’s quite a resume you’ve put up. I’m sure your skills will come in handy as the universe begins to expand and I’m glad you’ve had some time in the Alpha to play and acclimate yourself.
When you can, hop on our mumble server and a staff member can complete your onboarding. The staff members are denoted by |SD|, |D|, |AD| or |TL| next to their handles on mumble. Once you’re done with your application and your onboarding, you’ll be fully welcomed into the org.
We’re (im)patiently waiting the expansion of the SC Alpha into 2.6 and 3.0 with new functions coming. A couple other members will probably follow up after me on this thread to highlight a little more, so I won’t steal their thunder.
Hey there JeebusCannon - welcome to the ADI community!
That is a seriously impressive background (both professional and gaming) you have - I have no doubt you will fit in just fine here and look forward to getting some game time in.
It seems Terraphon and Dhawk have already hit my usual talking points - so I will just toss in a reminder that you can always reach out to any staff member if you have any questions or concerns.
As soon as a get some spare time I will jump on mumble to begin on boarding.
BTW do we have active members that are playing SC right now? What are some of the functions you are all waiting for? I have loosely been following SC, and only as of recent decided to back the game.
We do have people currently playing Star Citizen.
In fact, every Friday evening (in both US and EU time zones) we have Friday Flight Night - a time for members to gather and get some coordinated Star Citizen game play in. If you get a chance to join, its a great way to get to know some of our more active staff and members. You can check out our calendar on the main website for timing.
As for functions we are waiting for: personally I look forward to the FPS combat components.
Personally, I’m more looking forward to the first iteration of the economy. Buy/Sell/Trade and haul commodities, etc. Should be fun with a whole solar system to play with.
If you are ever looking for someone to play with (or want to jump into any random assortment of FPS games) hit me up. A bunch of us are pretty avid players of Squad, Ghost in the Shell, sometimes Planetside 2, BF4, and the Division.
Also, Friday Flight Night is a blast. I’ve only been able to attend a few (RL Commitments) but the level of organization and seeing an entire server get locked down is outstanding.
I’ve been logging into SC almost every day to see if I can play around with some of my new toys. Some days the bugs let me be long enough to try a few things. I look forward to meeting you, JeebusCannon.

Be sure to take some time to get settled in, and continue to hit up Mumble in order to help familiarize yourself with the many members we have…it will help you on in the long run once we really get moving SC wise once more patches are released. I’ll keep you in mind when I need a good Bounty Hunter
