Hello! My name is Ali — Let me tell you a little about myself.

Ever since I was a child, I felt connected with the stars….

From the first time I saw Star Wars, I was absolutely fascinated by what existed out there, among the stars. The great unknown. When I watched the crew of the Enterprise journey throughout the stars, I longed for that feeling of being along for the ride. Chris Roberts has finally given us a glimmer of hope in fulfilling that destiny in this lifetime, and I would like to share that destiny with Atlas Defense Industries.

I have come a long way since my childhood, immersing myself in various mediums of science fiction (books, anime, video games) — and truly savor the time I get to discuss these topics with other like-minded indivisuals. When I saw Atlas Defense Industries page on RSI, and saw the dedication, sweat and tears it must have taken to form an entity that was so structured, I knew I had to be a part of it.

I am interested in many aspects of life in the stars, but (as my application states) — I am most interested in exploration. To reach the outer edges of space, to discover what no man has before. I have amassed a medium-sized personal fleet to help jumpstart Atlas Defense Industries at launch, including a Carrack, Freelancer DUR, Aquila, Banu Merchantman, 315p, and Reclaimer (all meant to explore, trade, and salvage).

Back to my reality, my trade is a User Interface and User Experience Designer. I basically design websites and archetype how data will flow throughout them. On top of that, I am a seasoned brand and identity creator of over 10 years, along with everything that comes with it (managing websites, creating logos, brochures, etc). I hope to lend my talents to ‘Atlas’ — contributing in some way for the greater good.

Some more about me, in my free time, I am a sound/mix engineer, produce Electro House Music, sound sample libraries, tweak vintage synthesizers, and can be found modding my Toyota 86, or watching a new Anime.

Other games I have played include Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy 14 Online, Anarchy Online, Wildstar Online and many other offline games that are in the RPG/Fantasy/Science fiction realm.

It was a pleasure to get to tell Atlas a little about myself, and hopefully I can meet many of it’s fine members very soon.

Godspeed,
-Ali (The Phoenix Exultant)

hahaha Great intro, Phoenix!

I believe I saw you on our mumble server getting onboarded earlier but if I’m wrong, please make sure you hop on so we can get you squared away and introduced to everyone.

You’ll notice pretty quickly that we’re also playing a lot of other games while we’re waiting for Star Citizen to release and you are more than welcome to jump in with us and play any of those games at any time.

Also, if you’re playing something we’re not, please feel free to make a channel in mumble and see who might come along and join you.

Cheers!

Thanks!

Yes, that was me! Currently putting together my PC rig, should be done tomorrow – transferring over my mumble certs from osx to windows and will def be on after that!

I haven’t stepped into the actual game yet, but been following development for a long time. I was holding out the official HOTAS would be out by now (and was going to learn the mechanics/controls then) – but it looks like I may have to seek some alternatives!

Thanks again for the warm welcome!

Welcome, welcome!!

That’s quite the introduction. We’re glad to have you in the forums. Hope to see you on mumble soon!

Hey there Ali - welcome to the ADI community!
Absolutely incredible introduction - its great to see people with this level of passion joining our organization!
It seems your interest in exploration will also fit in great with our exploration division.

It looks like you already got your onboarding done, which is awesome (though if I am incorrect in that assumption, let me know and we can get you squared away).

I always like to make it clear that if you have any questions while you are here, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask a staff member - we will do our best to get you the answers you are looking for.

Lastly - I just like to point out that ADI is working on branching out into other games while we patiently wait for SC to release (Soon TM as they say). Currently we have plans to support CoD:IW, we have a number of players in Ark Survival Evolved, and plan on supporting a survival space sim called Hellion when it releases (soon TM). Feel free to help our community expand into more new games.

Welcome again and I look forward to getting some game time in with you.

PS: Due to the holiday here in the US, it may take longer than usual to process your application and onboarding - forum access may take a few days. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Hey Phoenix,

Great intro! I just wanted to stop in and say that on behalf of our many members, welcome! It sounds like you’re on-boarded and ready to roll. Be sure to take some time getting settled in, and once you’re GTG, be sure to continue to hop into Mumble in order to better familiarize yourself with a few of our many members and also some of the other games we’re supporting (check out the post Infandus made to you for more info) as we wait for SC to move a little further along developmental wise. Hopefully you can make our Friday night flight nights…it’s there where you can learn some of our ins and outs of how ADI works together.

On a side note, I listen to a lot of House & Chill Out Music…mainly by Viet Melodic. Hopefully that’s right in the ball park of what you’re mixing. Either way, tear up the mixers bud and I’ll see you in the verse!
