I received an invite for this org and it seems pretty good for what im looking for. Not too sure what department id be interested in because right now they all sound good.
I was curious about how much commitment is needed, it says real life comes first but also that members are expected to play. Will there be shifts or such? How does it work?
Look forward to joining but a little nervous bout onboarding since i have only spent about 2 minutes in the actual game.

All of these questions can be answered during your on boarding - but I will give you a quick set of responses to set your mind at ease =)
Time commitment
We only expect members to dedicate as much time to the game or community as they are able to / want to
You will never be asked to leave due to inactivity
The only thing we ask is that you check our forums and calendar once in a while (once a week - ish) to keep up to date on org activities and announcements
As for shifts - right now we have the Org split up into EU / US East / US West / Oceania time zones - this should allow us to have some level of member activity at all times during most times of the day.
Dont worry about being new to the game - everyone starts somewhere and in the grand scheme of things you are starting your SC journey VERY early in the process (pre-release). Plus - there are a TON of helpful people here at ADI! Dont be afraid to ask for help with the game when you are in mumble.

As has already been said, just hop on when you can! Some of us play daily because we are currently on leave for a month, some of us not so much!
If you ever need some one to jump into the PU with you just ask, the regular UK/EU (Brexit ) guys generally have a game in PU or Arena Commander everyday. Magee, Siitosori, masteryoung and I are particularly active, I certainly don’t mind spending an hour giving you a tutorial etc.
