My ‘space sim’ days started with freelancer and Star Wars Galaxies. Then the ‘X’ series and onto Elite Dangerous.
I also play Arma and I like grand strategy.

Yea I miss SWG, was a great game, especially after Jump To Lightspeed.
So how does the flight night work, is there a way to get in the same session on SC yet?
There is most definitely a way to get in the same session.
All you have to do is have the person you want to join in your friends list (F11, I believe) and when you try to enter the universe it will give you the option to spawn alone or in the same universe as them.
Exactly as Terraphon said - the party system currently allows up to 8 players to ‘deploy’ together into the same PU server.
