New to the boards, somewhat new to the game. Still learning the nuances of the game and the controls, but I have a general grasp of what’s going on. I’m working on getting a headset so I can hop on Mumble more often, but until then, I’m going to use my cellphone as an interim so I can at least hop on and say hello. Hoping to fly with you guys soon!

Leadership can definitely help guide you since you’re so new, and some of the members have great knowledge on which headset would benefit you without such a high cost. I would recommend asking whoever on-boards you since you won’t have full access to the boards until a few days after. Either way, we’re glad to have you! Once you have a headset, be sure to hop in Mumble every now and then in order to help familiarize yourself with a few of the many ADI members. I Hope to see you at the next Friday night flight night, and welcome once again.

oh, no worries about finding a headset. I know which one I’m getting. I just need to wait a few days to get the funds for one. I should have it up and running by this Friday so I can join in on the Friday night Free Flight thingamajig.

we definitely can train you up. We have flight training every other Saturday at 2pm CST, which might be of interest too.
Also feel free to ask questions either during flight night, or on our private forums once you have joined up. A number of us are veteran pilots of both air and space with several thousand flight hours each.
Also please make sure you complete all steps listed in this post, so that we can complete your onboarding (joining) before flight night so that you will be able to fly with us this week.

Hello Lurch, Welcome to ADI from Mission Support Services! I plan to be a Repair Specialist when we eventually get to fix things but if you have a ship that needs a crew I am available much of the time.
