I finally figured out how to do custom camera angles to help with landing. But it requires using F4 and a number key at the same time. Anyone have experience with setting up custom and camera angles with a joystick?
GameTouch - https://www.gametouchcontroller.com/ you can use a tablet to allow you to control predefined camera angles, and transitions between them.
I’ll definitely look into it. But I was looking for an option that wouldn’t require me to take my hands off the controls. Currently can pull up third person through a joystick control, but that just shows me where I looked last. When I’m landing, depending on the hanger orientation, I want to be able to switch to looking from the back of the ship or down on the ship instantly.
You can pre-save the angles so you only need to hit the corresponding numpad key. That’s how I tend to do it at the moment.
you can bind the camera movement to a thumbstick on your joystick (if you have a free analog one available) gametouchcontroller does mostly the same, simulating an input device via vjoy
i’m not sure, if you can also set the “saved positions” of a camera to a key. If you can’t directly map it, you can try and use a third party software to translate the button press to F4+Num 8 etc.
I have F4 linked to a joystick button. And I have the angles assigned to keypad one and two. But apparently you have to press both to get those angles. I’ll double check to see if you can assign two keys at once to a joystick button.
