This year’s anniversary sale has some unique opportunities to increase your ship insurance to 10 years at no extra cost, or upgrade to LTI at a low cost. For the first time in years there is a low cost LTI ship with a game package. In case you don’t know, each additional game package can be used as another character or as an NPC crew member (see “Multiple Package Clarification” below).
How do you get the 10 YEAR insurance upgrade for free?
Please consider if this affects your game package
1). Check the melt value of the ship and make sure it matches the current purchase price!
2). Melt any existing ship (MELTING SHIPS MAKES THEM ACCOUNT BOUND)!
3). Find the ship you wish to repurchase in the “Anniversary Ship Sale URL” page below, and make sure it says “IAE Insurance.”
You only obtain the “IAE Insurance” by buying from the sale listed ship, not by buying back a melted ship.
Each day a new ship manufacturer is added with their anniversary sale ships. You must buy from the links in the sale to obtain the “IAE Insurance.”

Multiple Package Clarification
“What this means is that if you currently have four Star Citizen packages you will be able to play four different characters using one RSI account, each with their own ship and starting credit balance. You will also have the option of breaking up your pledge packages and reallocating these three elements as you deem fit. In addition, you will get to choose which characters receive your addon ships, Voyager Direct items and stretch goal rewards you have accumulated. In this example, someone with four packages could assign all of the ships and credits to one character and leave the three Game Characters for later use. Unused Game Character slots without an associated ship or credits have two roles. They can be used to create additional crewmen or they can be gifted to other players.”
