New rig opinions/suggestions prepurchase.

The rig I’ve had my Eye on is the Revolt 2 pro through Ibuypower. The processor installed in the rig is the Intel core i7-7700k Processor 4x4.20Ghz/8mb L3 cache with Nvidia GeForceGTX 1070-8GB (VR ready) Graphics Card. My question is will this set up be sufficient for playing SC with no issues? My current comp can’t handle SC without having a total melt down and I was told that something with an Intel next gen Processor would be the way to go. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thx WD

First what type of monitor are you planning using with it? And can you wait until the Cannon Lake processors drop late this year, early next year?

I would also suggest not buying from iBuyPower.
I have seen far too many pictures of machines arriving at their destination destroyed.

Additionally, I am quite sure you could build a higher quality machine for the same price or an equal quality machine for less if you build it yourself.

I’ve thought about doing that as well, but I’m not that tech savvy when it comes to building a rig. my current setup came from Ibuypower and I’ve never had an issue but in taking your advice i do worry about it arriving all jacked up. I suppose I could go in to the nearest micro center and hope I get someone with some knowledge to help me put one together and if it’ll save me some $ that might be the way to go. This revolt 2 Pro looks like it has some good guts for the price but if you fellas have any suggestions on what I should choose for parts I’d love to hear it. Make it much easier when I go in if I had a list of parts…Thx WD

I’m using a 1080p 55" insignia for my monitor currently.

Well if you see me around on mumble, feel free to grab me and ask any questions you may have - I would be more than happy to help get you started on the path to building your own machine.

If you become more interested over time, I would be happy to point you in the direction of some good video guides.

I will admit I was hesitant to build my first machine, but I have not looked back since (in fact I just finished purchasing the parts for my next build just a few hours ago!)

Can you build a square block of lego’s? If so you can put a computer together. It’s pretty much plug and play.

I’ll do that and thanks for the info probably be doing something early spring.
