First off, nope, not a grandpa. Not that I know of anyway. But being the oldest of my friends group has landed me with this moniker. Zee is what most folk call me in game.
I’ve been orbiting (pun intended, got dad jokes for days, ya’ll. For. Days.) SC for a while. I had a lot of hours in Elite Dangerous as an Explorer (that SagA* run is zero joke, I still have an ASPx halfway there).
I have a few games I’m enjoying right now. Elite, World of Warships, SC (once I figure out which end of my ship is the pointy end), Just to name a few.
In meatspace, I’m 50 years old, Navy Vet, work full time and live with my dog, Ranger.
Right now I’m running Thrustmaster t160000 dual sticks, not that it helps me from playing bumper ships.
I joined the discord and can do onboarding when ever works for someone.
Good to have you here! what kind of game loops do you enjoy on Star Citizen? with there not being an exploration loop yet I find that hauling is fun, although I enjoy combat more.
Regarding the “exploration is fun but man it can be lonely” - oh man that’s an E:D problem. I enjoyed it at first, but SC exploration is totally different. It’s probably only 10% finished, but I’m hopeful it’ll be much more interesting than E:D’s when its done.
Welcome to ADI Zee! It’s great to have you join us. In meatspace, LOL! Well in meatspace there’s many of us over 50, so feel right at home. 50’s are the new 30’s, and us original gamers never get old! I believe that’s actually a thing. Looking forward to adventuring with you!
