I’m looking forward to star citizen. I’ve started collecting some ships here and there over the years. I’m an American and, I guess you could say, a writer or scholar by trade. (Dabbling with some IT and Development here and there). In my free time usually play MMOs and I’ve been developing a video game and some novels over the past few years.
Once SC comes out ill be a lot more active. My biggest ships are the Polaris and the Idris-P. (Although I’d have to say my favorite ship so far is the Redeemer, that thing looks sweet!) I collect many fighters, as I’m hoping to do more combat-based action (or fleet security as your website discusses). With that being said I hope to work with some of you as my crew mates either on your ships or mine once this game comes out. All the best and see you in the galaxy!
Hey there Arreat, thanks for your interest in ADI and welcome to the community! We’re happy to have you joining us!
Like you, there are a lot of us patiently awaiting the release of Star Citizen - that said, in the meantime, dont hesitate to hop on mumble and join us in some other games. We currently support two games other than Star Citizen: Hellion and Ark - Survival Evolved - and you will probably find a decent number of members active in Ghost Recon Wildlands / Mass Effect Andromeda / GTA V / etc.
Additionally, if you have any questions about the org, dont hesitate to reach out to myself or any other team lead - we should be able to square you away pretty quickly.
Anyway - welcome again and I look forward to seeing that formidable fleet of yours in action once the game is ready!
Welcome to ADI. Glad you joined us. It sounds like you have a healthy attitude coming in and want to contribute towards accomplishing great things. You have some very interesting real world experiences also. What type of books you like to write?
Warm welcome to ADI. Cool to hear a little bit about yourself, sounds like you do a little bit of everything there. I’ve got quite a bit of IT background myself, and dabbling in the writing so it looks like it is the other way around for me.
Hi and welcome @Arreat to ADI glad to see you with us and if you need anything. Don’t hesitate to send me a PM on here, discord or just grab me if you see me on Mumble and I’ll do my best to help you we are all here to help each other at the end of the day. I’m always about if you just want to fly or play a few rounds of star marine that’s great with me. well hope to see you soon
Welcome to ADI. Wow you have some big ships! The Idris-P is pretty cool. Just curious if you use a HOTAS system or keyboard and mouse when you fly? I will put you into my contact list and keep an eye out for you in game. We can fly some missions together. Feel free to do the same. Welcome to the verse.
The writing I do is usually either for the game we’re developing or for scholarly related work. On the more ‘fun’ side of things with the game we’re developing, I do some novel writing that’s fantasy and sci-fi based. We’re only a year into development and I have about 300 pages written, one book of three. As for the scholarly side of things, those are articles based on ethics and philosophy mostly. I’ve had a few publications here and there, nothing famous or anything .
Well, in terms of my controls, I just have my laptop and desktop right now with keyboard and mouse! I actually looking for some recommendations if you have any. I tried a HOTAS back when Windows Flight Sim came out and, honestly, I found it difficult. I’m left-handed and can’t find great controls. Secondly, it makes my wrists tried. Before the game releases I’m hoping to build a new PC and get maybe compromise with either an xbox controller or a mouse with some extra hot keys. What are your recommendations?
As for the cool ships, all the really cool ships aren’t playable yet! I can’t wait until they are. The biggest ship I have playable is the redeemer.
As others said, feel free to ask or call us if you need some help. We are here to help you. I will not repeat what other said above so I do short this time. We can meet eachother when you re in mumble.
I noticed you have an Idris-P. I imagine 30-50 ADI members in that ship. We will develop some department structure for it
